The restaurant

Eat & drink

The kitchen feeds the house and the street. You do not need a key to sit down.

The restaurant

A dark room with brass screens and a long bar. The kitchen cooks for the house and for people who walked over from the market. Plates come out. Wine sits. Nobody asks if you have a reservation upstairs.

Lunch runs late. Dinner holds. Friday the shop next door takes a DJ and the restaurant does not close early to pretend it is a hotel dining room.

The terrace

The terrace

The yard was for metal. It is a terrace now — lamps, tables, the heat of the kitchen coming through the door. In summer it is the first place people sit. After dark it takes the same table as Sunday lunch.

You can eat here without a room. That is the point.

Heat

Friday

Heat

A DJ in the old shop.

The floor still remembers the press. Neighbours come. Guests come down. No cartoon night — just a room that gets loud on purpose.

Sunday plate

Sunday

Sunday plate

One sitting. A long table.

The terrace if the weather holds. The restaurant if it does not. A lunch that runs late and does not pretend to be brunch.

A sample kitchen. No table is held.
